No. I’m not kidding.
I’m heading in a new direction, folks. Yeah, I write all sorts of stuff. You name it, I’ve probably ghostwritten it for a client or two.
But that craziness is coming to an end. Tina is tired of being all things to all people. Tina no likey being pulled in many directions and bent into weird pretzel shapes in order to please the masses.
It’s time to streamline, baby.
So that whole “I’m feeling thankful and all that and I’m going to do an article giveaway on my site” a couple weeks ago? Yeah. I changed my mind.
The upcoming re-vamp of my site will also include a re-vamp of my services.
Ebooks. That’s where it’s at for yours truly. (Well, you can get your book printed instead…because some of my clients decide their book is better suited for print).
Here’s the deal:
It’s a giveaway, contest, whatever you want to call it (I really don’t care).
The prize:
A ghostwritten ebook (max 25 pages…if you need one that’s longer, then we can work something out at a discounted rate) for your business. Any topic. But no adult content. That’s just not my thing. And if it’s crazy scientific or something, then you need to bring some research to the table. I’ve got an MBA. I’ve written on everything from credit to health care to the gloriousness of baby booties. But I’m not here to write your next physics paper or something.
Once you win, I contact you and we go from there. We develop a table of contents and gather the research for the topic (hopefully you have links or something…please!) and then I whip up your custom ebook. It should take about a week. And yes, you’ll get 2 rounds of edits. I do that with all my projects.
If you’re a writer, and don’t really need this prize…okay, why not enter anyway? You can give this freebie away to someone else if you’d like. You can use it as part of a giveaway on your own site, or you can use it in a barter with another professional to get something you really need. I’m flexible.
Prize value:
$500
How it works:
I wanna spread the word, people. I want to write more ebooks. Me likey writing. So here are the rules, guidelines, details, minutiae, whatever you want to call ‘em (again, not really a big deal which word you want to use…just pick one)…rules have been slightly updated to accommodate freaky people who are ultra-competitive and whatnot…
1) The winner will be chosen December 1st. Said winner will have accumulated the most points. If there are several (okay, more than one…) people with the same top point count, then said people will have their names written on low-tech paper and tossed into my baseball cap and one name will be picked out. Seriously.
2) Points must be accumulated by midnight November 30th. (Translation – don’t whip out a tweet on December 1st. It won’t count. By the way, I’m on Mountain Standard Time).
3) Leave a comment here (required) stating why you want/need a ghostwritten ebook = 1 point
4) Post about this contest/giveaway/whatever on your site, linking to this post (You can also get friends/colleagues to post on their own sites about the giveaway and attribute the points to you if you run out of your own sites and want to still rack up points!) = 3 points
5) Tweet about this contest/giveaway/whatever, mention @TinaMc giveaway with link to this post = 1 point each (max 5 points)
6) Mention it in a forum. Then come back here to the comments and post the link to your forum comment = 3 points (max 12 points)
7) You can post about it on other blog comments but ONLY if that blog post has relevant content and you are not spamming. Example: you see a blog on one of yoru fave sites and the post is about promotion or informational products or something along those lines…then you can comment and mention the giveaway. Use good judgement people! 2 points each, (max 6 points)
Facebook mentions will get you 3 points each (6 points max).
The whole point is to spread the word. Yell it to the mountain tops. I figure why wait for the site to have a new look. Might as well spread the word now.
Ebooks, baby.
Scream it!
Tina writes ebooks!!
And some lucky person is gonna get a free one. Pretty cool.

@ Heather Cook – Thanks! Personally, I do too! LOL My starting point for fees is $20 per page. That’s with relatively little to no research done on my part. The more research, the more it costs…and I’ve done some $2000 books.
@ Nancy – so glad you popped in! I remember you weren’t sure what you wanted you ebook to be about…I’m looking forward to hearing your idea!
@ deskcoder – Bring it! We’ll get that ebook of your finished in no time!
@ FX – Argh! I’m trying to streamline my services here. To books only. Yes, I know how to do an email campaign. But I really, really, really want to write you an ebook that can make you oodles of money.
@ Robb – Thanks for stopping in!!
@ Melissa – Thanks for the blog post!
ALL – I will be creating a post in the next few days letting you know the current point count so you can have time to whip out more twitters, post in forums, etc. before December 1st. I will also link back to any blog posts you have made so you can get some pings on your own sites!

Hi Tina
now I’m trying to decide which project to have you start on first!
Wow, I’m so excited to be working with you on the book project
To answer the question of why I want / need an ebook written, I’m pretty good at starting things, but then they sit there, mocking me! My paying customers always take up all my prime time, and my own projects get pushed back. Well, NO MORE! its time to get some of these projects out where they actually do someone some good.
I’m actually excited now
I should fill out forms more often

Okay Carlin & Kelli – you two are crackin’ me up!!
I will accept Facebook. I will give it 3 pts (like forum posts) and allow a max of 6pts. So…post about it on facebook twice and you’ve got your 6 pts.
Also, if you’ve run out of your own sites/blogs to post on, if you get a friend to blog about it and they attribute the post about the giveaway to you, that’s another way you can rack up the 3 pts each (no max).

Go take a look at the picture I posted on twitpic.com which is a screen shot from http://www.48hrbooks.com/ check out the prices and quantity. That is an amazingly low entry point. just thought I’d share that. Oh, and of course I put a link back here on that picture… slick huh?
November 26th, 2008 at 7:22 am
Oh Carlin – you crack me up!! Yeah, there are a few print-on-demand book companies that really can create quality books. And they typically have lower quantities to give you a price break on. It’s pretty cool. When you break it down and figure out that each book is costing you, say, $6…and then you turn around and sell it for $12.99, $19.99 and so on…it’s just significant profit! A heck of a lot more than if you went with a traditional publisher, that’s for sure. And it’s a great option for non-fic books that have an audience.
