Once you know what you’re selling, it’s time to think about marketing your product or service. Marketing’s a no-brainer, right?
You gotta spread the word and get people to start buying your product. Simple enough.
But do you know how to get from Point A to Point B and maybe even to Point C?
First and foremost, determine WHY you are launching a marketing campaign.
(Get past the money issue…of course you want to make money…)
In order for you to launch an effective campaign, you want to know the reason behind it:
1) New product/service?
2) New target market?
3) New strategy?
Okay, there are more reasons…but these are the basics.
When you know your specific reason for launching a marketing campaign you are laying the groundwork for developing that campaign and making it as effective as possible. Not every campaign has to include you reinventing the wheel. You can re-use customer lists. You can re-package and re-market “old” products. But you need to have a reason why you are doing it in order to draw the line from point A to point B. (and sometimes to Point C…if there is a Point C).
In fact, because I have a hard time keeping things easy, my own impending marketing campaign will be a hybrid…but well developed based on my reasons for launching this marketing campaign. More about that in a later post.
